The SKOTTSBERG® Cast Iron frying pan is valued for several special properties. The pan is pre-seasoned, meaning it has been seasoned with vegetable oil and is ready for use immediately after purchase. It can withstand high temperatures and gets better and better with age.
Skottsberg Cast Iron Cookware
Inspired by the pioneering spirit of Swedish explorers Carl Johan Fredrik Skottsberg, the SKOTTSBERG® Cast Iron collection is robust enough to take on adventures and use over open fires. This cast iron can withstand extremely high temperatures and retains heat very well, making SKOTTSBERG® pans ideal for essential daily dishes such as frying or grilling steaks or preparing delicious stews.
How to use
This Cast Iron frying pan is made from a single piece of cast lightweight, wear-resistant cast iron. The pan heats up quickly, so it is very important to heat the pan gradually to prevent the bottom of the pan from warping. The handle of this pan is hollow, so it doesn't get hot and is easy to grip.
What will you make?
This frying pan can withstand high temperatures (after gradual heating) and is therefore very suitable for frying fish, meat, potatoes, pancakes or wraps and preparing a delicious paella or grilled cheese. This cast iron frying pan heats up quickly and ensures optimal retention of nutrients. Serve the most delicious and healthiest dishes every day!
Which heat source to use?
This frying pan is not only strong and robust, it is also suitable for any heat source. Cooking on induction, open fire and in the oven (max. 250℃) is no problem for this pan. It is durable, energy-saving and, with proper use, provides a lifetime of cooking pleasure!
Why use seasoning oil?
Skottsberg seasoning oil is a natural oil for seasoning cast iron and sheet steel pans (without a synthetic or enamel non-stick coating). By seasoning the pans with this oil, you create a natural non-stick layer in your pan. This so-called patina layer develops naturally during frequent cooking in your pan, and by seasoning the pan yourself beforehand, you accelerate this process. It also protects the pan from rust. If the patina layer is damaged, you can easily restore it yourself by re-seasoning the pan.
