Demeyere Silver 7 conical casserole with double-walled lid

Want the slow-cooked results of a cast-iron cocotte, but without the heavy lifting? This Demeyere Silver 7 conical casserole (also known as a braising pan) is made of stainless steel and is therefore much lighter. With a capacity of 3.25 litres, it is ideal for dishes for 3 to 5 people.

What can you make with it?

This casserole is made for anything that needs to simmer, braise or sauté slowly. Think of a rich bolognese sauce, Dutch stoofvlees or Flemish carbonnade flamande, a fish soup such as bouillabaisse, a creamy risotto or a spicy curry. Sauté vegetables and meat over high heat first, then let the dish cook gently with the lid on. Thanks to the conical shape with sloped sides, you can easily stir through the entire pan and moisture evaporates evenly. This allows sauces to thicken beautifully.

The difference is in the lid

What makes this casserole special is the double-walled lid. It is extra insulated and heavier than a regular lid, allowing it to fit snugly on the pan. Steam, moisture, flavour and vitamins stay in your dish, less heat is lost and you cook faster and more efficiently. The lid also fits other Demeyere pans with the same diameter.

Even heat right to the edge

The 7-layer material extends to the edge and distributes heat quickly and evenly across the base and sides, so nothing burns. You need very little energy to reach temperature. Cooking on induction? Then thanks to Demeyere's TriplInduc® technology, you save up to 30% energy while keeping the temperature precisely under control.

Easy to use, easy to clean

Thanks to the special pouring rim, you can pour sauces and broth without spilling. The stainless steel handles fit comfortably in the hand and stay cool for a long time. After cooking, the pan is quick to clean: thanks to the rounded shape, you can reach everywhere with your sponge. The Silvinox® treatment keeps the stainless steel silver-white and shiny, even after years of intensive use. This casserole is made in Belgium and is suitable for all cooktops, including induction.

Frequently asked questions

    3-laags koekenpannen

  • Does the Silver 7 roasting pan work on induction?

Yes. The Silver 7 frying pan works on all cooktops: gas, electric, ceramic, halogen, and induction. Thanks to TriplInduc, you get up to 30% more energy out of your induction cooktop. Tip: do not cook on the boost setting; it is intended for boiling water.

  • Can the Silver 7 roasting pan go in the oven?

Yes. Handy for letting a stew simmer in the oven for hours. The handles get hot, so use oven mitts.

  • Can the Silver 7 roasting pan go in the dishwasher?

Yes, stainless steel can go in the dishwasher without any problems. After a thorough scrubbing, weeks in warm soapy water with a soft sponge often work faster.

  • Why does my food stick to the Silver 7 roasting pan?

Usually, the pan isn't hot enough yet, or you turn it over too soon. Heat it to about 70–80% of your stove's heat and perform the water test: if water droplets roll around like marbles, it's ready. Only then add the oil (preferably one with a high smoke point) and then the food. Leave it alone: as soon as a crust has formed, it will release on its own.

  • Is the Silver 7 frying pan PFAS-free?

Yes. There is no non-stick coating, only stainless steel. So no PFAS either.

  • How do I remove stains from my Silver 7 roasting pan?

White spots or a rainbow sheen are caused by limescale or starch. Pour a little vinegar or lemon juice over them, rub them in, rinse and dry. A bluish discoloration is caused by excessive heat: harmless, and can be removed with a stainless steel cleaner. Leave steel wool in the cupboard, as it will scratch the surface.

  • How many people is the Silver 7 roasting pan for?

Allow approximately 1 liter per person:

    • Ø24 cm, 3.25 liters: 3 people
    • Ø28 cm, 4.8 liters: 5 people
  • How long is the warranty on the Silver 7 roasting pan?

You get a 30-year warranty on manufacturing defects under normal household use.

  • Do I need to season the Silver 7 cast iron skillet?

No. Stainless steel does not need to be seasoned. Preheating thoroughly and a little oil is all you need.

  • What do I get out of the 7 layers of the Silver 7?

Demeyere's 7-layer construction means more mass: the pan retains heat like a cast-iron pan, but distributes it more evenly. Ideal for searing.

  • Where is the Silver 7 roasting pan made?

The Silver 7 conical roasting pan is produced in Demeyere's own factory in Belgium.
