Product information

Looking for a spacious wooden cutting board that combines durability and design? The SOPHIOR Large Acacia Cutting Board is a sophisticated choice for the home cook who values efficiency and quality. Made from 100% FSC-certified wood, with a luxurious finish and clever details.

Knife-Friendly and Durable
This cutting board is crafted from end-grain acacia wood, a wood structure that protects your knives and absorbs minor cut marks. This ensures the surface stays beautiful longer and your knives stay sharp longer – perfect for intensive daily use.

Ample Workspace and Practical Design

Measuring 35 x 25 x 2.5 cm, this board offers plenty of space for cutting meat, vegetables, bread, or fruit. The integrated juice groove prevents messes, and the recessed handles provide a firm, comfortable grip when lifting or serving.

From Countertop to Serving Board
Thanks to its warm wood tones and high-quality finish, this board is not only functional but also an eye-catcher on the table. Use it as a serving board for tapas, cheeses, or bread and add style to any occasion.

Conscious Choice for Quality

Made from 100% FSC-certified acacia wood, this cutting board combines ease of use with responsible craftsmanship. A sustainable investment that excels in both appearance and performance in your kitchen and on your table.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can this board go in the dishwasher?

No. Hot steam and prolonged soaking are fatal for wood: this board can warp or crack. Rinse with warm water and a drop of dish soap, dry it, and let it dry upright. Done in a minute.

  • What kind of wood is it and why?

Acacia, solid and 100% FSC-certified, Janka hardness 1430 lbf. Acacia is hard and dense: it absorbs little moisture and dries quickly. Cut marks are less noticeable due to the lively grain.

  • What is the difference between end grain and long grain?

In end-grain, the wood fibres stand upright, like a bundle of straws. Your knife slides between the fibres instead of cutting through them. As a result, your knife stays sharp for longer and the cut marks partially close up again. Straight-grain is lighter and easier to maintain; end-grain is the premium option for those who value their knives.

  • Does solid wood require more maintenance?

A little more, yes. The upright fibres drink up oil like a thirsty cook after a shift. Oil the board a little more often during the first few weeks, then every four to six weeks. This will keep it tight and prevent it from cracking.

  • How often should I oil this board?

Every four to six weeks, or as soon as the wood looks dry or dull. Apply a generous layer of mineral oil, leave it to soak in overnight and buff away the excess. Want to add an extra layer of protection: a thin coat of beeswax will make the surface water-repellent.

  • Can I use this board immediately?

Yes. This board is finished with mineral oil and beeswax and made with formaldehyde-free glue. Out of the box, onto the counter, ready to cut.

  • Is a wooden cutting board hygienic, even for raw meat?

Yes, provided you clean it after use and let it dry thoroughly. A bonus: wood does not release microplastics, unlike a scratched plastic cutting board. Do you often cut raw meat and vegetables together? Use a separate side or a second cutting board.

  • What is the sapgeul used for?

The groove along the edge catches meat juices, tomato juice and lemon juice. This keeps your counter dry when you carve the rib-eye. The other side is flat: ideal for serving.

  • Can I use both sides?

Yes, this board is double-sided. Turn it regularly so that the wood wears evenly and the board remains flat.

  • How can I prevent my cutting board from warping or cracking?

Three rules: never let it soak, let it dry upright so both sides get air, and oil it in time. Do not place it near the heater or in direct sunlight. Wood that is not thirsty does not warp.

  • Can I also serve it on it?

Absolutely. Cheese, charcuterie, freshly baked bread: this board looks just as good on the table as it does on the kitchen counter. The handles on the side make it easy to carry.

  • How much warranty do I get?

2 years for defects in materials and workmanship.
