Frequently asked questions

  • Why do the pans in the Padova saucepan set suddenly burn?

Almost always, there is a thin layer of burnt-on grease on the non-stick coating. This is called carbonization. It is caused by too high heat, olive oil or baking spray, food residue that remains and washing too gently. The layer itself is usually still fine. Read all the tips in our blog about burnt-on food.

  • How can I make my Padova cookware set look like new again?

    • Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the pan and sprinkle baking soda (soda) over it.
    • Let this simmer gently for 10 minutes and then soak for a few hours.
    • Then clean the pan with warm water, dishwashing liquid and a melamine sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or the hard side of a scouring sponge.
    • Then test with a splash of cold milk: if it runs off cleanly, the pan is clean.
  • How do I keep the pan clean?

Wash the pans after each use by hand or in the dishwasher until they shine again. Do you see a matte, dull film? Then there is still grease on them. Wash it off, using soda and vinegar if necessary.

  • Can the Padova cookware set go in the dishwasher?

Yes, you can. But the dishwasher significantly shortens the lifespan of the non-stick coating. Washing by hand is therefore better.

  • Which oil or butter should I use?

Ideally, use an oil with a high smoke point, such as sunflower oil or rapeseed oil. You can also use butter or ghee over medium heat. Do not bake with olive oil or baking spray, as they burn quickly and leave a sticky residue.

  • What heat should I bake on?

Heat the pans gently, at about 70–80% power. Medium-high heat is hot enough, even for meat. Be especially careful with induction: it heats the pan in a few seconds. Do not use the boost setting.

  • Is the Padova frying pan set PFAS-free?

Yes. Everything from GreenPan is PFAS-free. GreenPan invented the ceramic non-stick coating.

  • Ceramic or Teflon: which is better?

Ceramic is PFAS-free and therefore the healthiest choice. Teflon is also perfectly fine under normal use, but when it wears down, it releases plastic. A damaged Teflon coating is harmful, but a damaged ceramic coating is not. However, food will cook faster on a damaged spot.

  • Is the Padova frying pan set suitable for induction and the oven?

Yes. The pans are suitable for all heat sources: induction, gas, electric, ceramic and halogen. They are oven-safe up to 220 °C. The handle is made of steel.

  • For how many people is the Padova cookware set?

    A guideline per frying pan:

    • 20 cm: for 1-2 people.
    • 26 cm: for 3-4 people.
  • What is included in the Padova frying pan set?

The set consists of a 20 cm frying pan and a 26 cm frying pan.

  • Why isn't my cold pan sitting completely flat?

A cold pan may warp slightly; as it heats up, the base will flatten out. Avoid sudden temperature changes: do not place a cold pan on the highest heat setting, and do not run cold water over a hot pan.

  • What warranty do I get on the Padova cookware set?

Lifetime on the stovetop and 5 years on the non-stick coating, with normal home use. Scratches and discoloration from use are not covered.
