• What do I use the Demeyere pan protector for?

  Place the pan protector between stacked pans to prevent them from scratching each other. Pans with a ceramic or Teflon non-stick coating, in particular, are susceptible to scratches when stacked. The silicone protector conforms to the shape of the pan and prevents the bottom of the top pan from touching the coating of the bottom pan.

• Does the Demeyere pan protector fit all pan sizes?

  The pan protector is flexible and fits a wide range of pan sizes. The silicone material automatically conforms to the shape of the pan. When purchasing, check whether the protector is large enough for your largest pan.

• Can I also use the pan protector as a trivet for hot pans?

  No. Demeyere explicitly states that the pan protector is not suitable as a trivet for hot pans. Silicone transfers heat to the surface underneath. Use a real pot holder or a trivet made of cork, wood, or heat-resistant plastic.

• Is the pan protector also suitable for cast iron pans?

  Yes, you can also use the pan protector with cast iron pans to prevent scratches on the enamel or tabletop. With cast iron, damage from stacking is less of an issue, but the protector also does its job here.

• How many pot protectors are in the pack?

  The package contains two pan protectors. Enough for three stacked pans, with a protector between every two pans.

• Are the pan protectors also suitable for stainless steel pans?

  Yes. Stainless steel pans are less easily damaged than pans with a coating, but with long pans or heavy top pans, they can still leave small scratches. The protector also prevents pans from nesting together and becoming difficult to separate.

• How do I clean the pan protectors?

  Silicone is easy to wash with warm water and dish soap. The protectors are also dishwasher safe. Make sure they are completely dry before placing them back between your pots and pans, otherwise moisture stains may occur.

• How long do pan protectors last?

  Silicone is very durable with normal use. The protectors will last for years. Replace them if the silicone tears, shows hard stains that can no longer be washed off, or loses flexibility.

• Are the pan protectors also suitable for pans with a wooden handle?

  Yes. The pan protector protects the baking surface of the pan regardless of the handle material. It goes between the insides of the pans, not around the handle.

• Can I also use these pan protectors to protect plates when storing them?

  The pan protector is designed for pans, not for dishes. For protecting plates, specific plate and dish protectors are available. The silicone protector is flexible enough to be used with bowls or dishes as well, but does not guarantee a perfect fit for all tableware.

• Are the pan protectors also suitable for woks?

  Yes. The silicone protector adapts to the curved wall of a wok. With a round wok bottom, the protector fits less snugly than with a flat frying pan, but it still offers protection for the non-stick coating.

• Are Demeyere pan protectors also compatible with other brands?

  Yes. The protectors are not exclusive to Demeyere. They work for any pan of an appropriate size, regardless of the brand.

• Do silicone pan protectors smell?

  New silicone may have a slight odor. This will disappear after a few days of use. Wash the protectors with warm soapy water before first use to remove any production odor.

• Can the pan protectors discolour?

  Over time, silicone can discolour when it comes into contact with fats or strongly coloured sauces. This is cosmetic and does not affect its function. Wash them regularly to minimise discolouration.

• Are the pan protectors made of food-safe silicone?

  Yes. The pan protectors are made from food-safe silicone. They do not come into contact with the food itself, but the material is safe for use in the kitchen.
