Frequently asked questions

• How long does the YETI Roadie® 24 stay cold?

  That depends on how you use it. Pre-chill the cooler, fill it at least two-thirds with ice, and open it as little as possible. If you do that, it will easily stay cold for more than 24 hours, even if it's warm outside. The PermaFrost™ insulation (pressure-injected polyurethane) does its job, but it's not magic: if you open it every five minutes, the ice will simply melt faster.
  

• How many cans fit in the YETI Roadie® 24?

  It can hold 33 cans of 300 ml, but without ice. If you really want to keep the contents cold, you fill it with ice, and then it holds a bit less. For a day out, that's more than enough.
  

• Do wine bottles fit in the YETI Roadie® 24?

  Yes, even upright! Thanks to the higher internal height of the 24-liter version, wine bottles can also stand upright in the box.

• Does the YETI Roadie® 24 keep warm items hot?

  Yes. The same insulation that keeps the cold in, also keeps the heat in. Whether you're bringing soup, coffee, or a hot meal, the Roadie® 24 works both ways.

• Can I easily carry this cooler by myself?

  Certainly. The cooler itself weighs 5.9 kg and features sturdy LipGrip™ handles that stay out of the way but are easy to grip. Thanks to the DoubleDuty™ shoulder strap, you can also carry it hands-free, which is handy if you're carrying something else at the same time. When fully packed, it will naturally be heavier, but with the strap, you'll have it perfectly under control.

• Is the YETI Roadie® 24 leakproof?

  No. If it’s tipped on its side or upside down, liquid will leak out. Please keep this in mind when you put it in the car or take it on a boat. If you want a truly leakproof option, the YETI Hopper® Soft Coolers are a better choice.

• Is there a drain plug?

  Yes. The BestDam™ drain plug comes standard. You can drain meltwater without tilting or spilling the cooler. Then simply close it again. Dry ice is also no problem: the seal allows carbon dioxide gas to escape, so you can use it for that. Please read YETI's instructions for proper use.
  
  

• How do I clean the YETI Roadie® 24?

  Warm water with some dish soap does the usual job. If you really want to tackle it thoroughly, use a solution of 1 part bleach to 6 parts warm water with a sponge or lightly abrasive cloth. Rinse thoroughly, leave the lid open, and let it dry, done.

• Is the YETI Roadie® 24 suitable for the beach, fishing, and camping?

  Great for all three. It fits on a kayak, paddleboard or ATV, and is light enough to haul down to the beach or fishing pier. One thing: don't stand on it. It can handle most people's weight, but its slender build makes it easy to tip over if you sit or stand on it.

• How sturdy and durable is the YETI Roadie® 24?

  Just very sturdy. The rotomolded construction is resistant to impacts, drops, and heavy use. The NeverFail™ hinge system with two interlocking pins prevents the lid from breaking or coming loose. YETI provides a five-year warranty on it, which already indicates their own confidence in the product.

• Can I secure the YETI Roadie® 24 to a boat or trailer?

  Yes. The AnchorPoint™ tie-down slots are specifically designed for this. Combine that with the BearFoot™ non-slip feet and the box stays put, even on rough terrain.

• Is the YETI Roadie® 24 suitable for day trips or also for longer outings?

  This larger cool box is perfect for multi-day trips. Its larger capacity provides enough space to cool food and drinks for a few days!

• How do you open the YETI Roadie® 24 with one hand?

  The QuickLatch™ system makes this easy. The latch is strong enough to keep the lid closed, but opens smoothly with one hand. Handy when your other hand is already occupied.

• Is the YETI Roadie® 24 resistant to high outdoor temperatures?

  Yes. The PermaFrost™ Insulation and Interlock Lid System are designed to seal in the cold even in extreme outside temperatures. Whether you're on the beach on a sweltering day or on a boat in direct sunlight, the Roadie® 15 will continue to perform.
