• What do you use the YETI Ice Block for?

  The YETI Ice Block is a reusable cooler ice pack that you use together with loose ice in your cooler. It cools the contents faster and keeps your ice colder for longer. So you don't use it instead of ice, but as a supplement to it.
  

• What sizes are available?

  There are three sizes: 450 grams (1 lb), 900 grams (2 lb), and 1.8 kg (4 lb). The size you choose depends on the cooler you are using and how much space you have left alongside your food and drinks.

• Which size fits which cooler?

  As a general rule, use 450 grams for small coolers such as the Roadie 15, 900 grams for medium coolers such as the Roadie 24, and 1.8 kg for larger models such as the Tundra 45 and larger. You can also combine several smaller ice packs in a larger cooler.

• Does the YETI ICE simply replace ice?

  No. It's a supplement to loose ice or ice cubes, not a replacement. If you use it without ice, its performance will be significantly less effective. The combination is what makes the difference.

• How long does the YETI Ice Block need to be in the freezer before I can use it?

  Freeze it for at least 24 hours before use. Thanks to its specific shape, it freezes faster than standard ice packs, but allow it enough time to freeze completely for the best result.

• How long does the YETI Ice block keep the cooler cold?

  That depends on the situation: the outside temperature, how full your cooler is, and how often you open it all play a role. As a supplement to ice, the YETI Ice significantly prolongs the cold retention of the contents compared to ice alone. Exact hours cannot be given, but you will notice the difference.

• Does the YETI Ice Block leak?

  No. Unlike ordinary ice, the YETI ICE block does not melt into water. There's no meltwater left in your cooler, no soggy packaging, and no draining to deal with. After use, simply put it back in the freezer.

• Is the YETI Ice Block food safe?

  Yes. The ice block is food safe, even if it is placed directly against your food or drink.

• Can I reuse the YETI ICE indefinitely?

  Yes. After use, place it back in the freezer and you can reuse it again and again. That is also one of the great advantages compared to loose ice.

• How sturdy is the YETI Ice Block?

  Very sturdy. The housing is shatterproof and designed to take a beating, even when fully frozen. YETI tested it by dropping it frozen. So you don't have to handle it with kid gloves.

• Can I use the YETI ICE Block in a soft cooler?

  Technically yes, but the YETI ICE is primarily designed for hard-sided YETI coolers (Roadie, Tundra, and V Series). It also works in a soft cooler, but keep in mind that a soft bag insulates less effectively, so the benefit will be smaller.

• How many ice cubes do I need?

  That depends on how long you want to keep the contents cold and how big your cool box is. For a day trip, one ice pack is often sufficient for a small to medium-sized cool box. For longer trips or larger cool boxes, it's better to use two packs and alternate them.

• Can I use the YETI ICE Block on its own, without loose ice?

  You can, but then you'll be underutilizing the product's capabilities. The YETI Ice Block is designed for use in combination with ice. Without ice, it cools the box significantly less effectively and for a shorter duration.

• Does the YETI Ice Block come with a warranty?

  Yes, YETI offers a five-year warranty on the YETI Ice Block.

• What is the difference with the YETI Ice Packs?

  The YETI Ice Sheet is a thinner and more compact cool pack for soft coolers and smaller spaces. The YETI Ice Block is thicker, heavier, and has more cooling capacity. Use the YETI Ice Sheet when space is the limiting factor, and the YETI Ice Block when you want maximum cooling performance.
