View all SOPHIOR productsThe SOPHIOR cherry wood cutting board, measuring 35 × 25 cm, is made from North American cherry wood (Prunus Serotina). This type of wood is known for its warm appearance and unique characteristic: its color only improves with time. While the board initially has a light reddish-brown hue, daily use develops a deeper and richer patina. This gives each board its own unique character.
Kind to your knives
Cherry wood is slightly softer than, for example, maple, and you'll notice this while cutting. The wood gives slightly, meaning your knives' edges will dull less quickly. Whether you're slicing an onion, chopping herbs, or dicing chicken breast: this board cuts smoothly and is comfortable to use daily.
Also beautiful as a serving board
This board is not only practical during cooking but also looks beautiful on the table. Thanks to its warm color and fine wood grain, you can just as easily use it as a serving board. Think of fresh bread with dips, olives, or small bites. Precisely because the wood gains even more depth in color over time, its appearance only becomes more beautiful.
Double-sided use
The board can be used on both sides. The side with a juice groove is ideal for ingredients that release moisture, such as tomatoes or a juicy piece of meat. The flat side is handy for bread, vegetables, or fresh herbs. This way, you always have a suitable side for different cutting tasks.
Responsible and ready to use
The North American cherry wood is 100% FSC-certified and comes from responsibly managed forests. The board has been treated with mineral oil, making it food-safe and immediately ready for use. By re-oiling the board every four to six weeks, the wood remains beautiful, strong, and well-protected.
