How better to do your bit than by baking a dark chocolate banana bread? It might sound strange, but it's true! Every year, millions of slightly overripe bananas are thrown away, even though they are perfect for baking at that point. Dark spots, predominantly brown or almost black? Ideal for banana bread! The riper the banana, the sweeter and thus even more delicious for your homemade banana bread. Great with coffee or as a nutritious and healthy snack.
What do you need?
• 3 ripe bananas
• 2 eggs
• 120 grams of butter
• A pinch of salt
• (Optional) Dark chocolate or other ingredients of your choice
How to make it?
1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 175°C (electric) or 160°C (convection).
2. Mash the bananas: Mash 2 of the bananas with a fork in a bowl.
3. Mix the ingredients: Add 2 eggs and the butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
4. Add the dry ingredients: Add the contents of the bottle (or your dry cake mix) and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Mix until smooth.
5. Fill the loaf pan: Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan. Cut the last banana in half lengthwise and place the halves on top of the mixture.
6. Bake the bread: Place the loaf pan in the middle of the oven and bake for 60-70 minutes. Check with a skewer to see if the banana bread is cooked through. If the skewer comes out clean, your bread is ready!
Enjoy your homemade banana bread with a delicious twist of dark chocolate!
