• What is the YETI Straw Cap?

  The YETI Straw Cap is a separate cap with a built-in straw that can be attached to any YETI Rambler bottle. You flip it open, drink, and flip it closed again. It's sold separately as an accessory, allowing you to give your existing bottle a different drinking experience.
  

• Which YETI bottles fit the Straw Cap?

  It fits all YETI Rambler Bottles, from the 12 oz to the 64 oz. It does not fit tumblers, mugs, or other drinkware. Only the bottle line.
  

• How the YETI Straw Cap Works

  Flip up the cap, the straw pops up, and you can drink immediately. Then close it again for a leakproof seal. The TripleHaul™ handle is located on top of the cap, making it easy to carry or attach to a bag.

• Is the YETI Straw Lid leakproof?

  Yes, when closed. But beware: the lid can open if the bottle is shaken or bumped vigorously in a bag or backpack. YETI therefore strongly advises against storing the bottle with a Straw Cap loosely in a bag. Upright in a side pocket works best. If you do want to throw the bottle in your bag, use the Commuter Cap or Twist Cap.
  

• Can I use hot beverages with the YETI Straw Cap?

  No. The Straw Cap is not suitable for hot drinks. A hot straw in your mouth is reason enough, but the pressure that can build up due to heat also makes it unsafe. If you want to take hot coffee or tea with you in your YETI bottle, switch to the Commuter Cap.

• Can I use sparkling water or soda with the YETI Straw Cap?

  No. The Straw Cap is not suitable for carbonated beverages. Pressure build-up can make the cap difficult to open or cause it to open forcefully. Also, do not use it for storing food or perishables.
  

• Does the YETI Straw Cap come with a straw?

  Yes, it comes with two straws. This is useful because straws can get lost or worn out. Replacement straws are also available separately through YETI. The length of the straw varies by bottle size: for the 18 oz it is 16.8 cm, for the 26 oz 18.4 cm, and for the 36 oz 20 cm.
  

• Can I cut the straw to size?

  Yes. If you use the Straw Cap on a smaller bottle than the straw is designed for, you can shorten it. YETI provides the recommended lengths for each bottle size. Always cut straight for a clean seal.
  

• Does the YETI Straw Cap have insulation?

  No. Unlike the Commuter Cap, the Straw Cap does not have extra insulation material in the cap itself. The insulation comes from the bottle. This makes little difference for cold drinks, but keep in mind that heat escapes faster through an uninsulated cap.

• Is the YETI Straw Cap dishwasher safe?

  Yes, both the cap and the straw are dishwasher safe. Always remove the gasket from the cap before putting it in, and place the straw in the cutlery basket so it doesn't move around.

• How do I properly clean the straw?

  A straw brush will make this the easiest. Please note: do not use boiling water to rinse the straw, the Straw Cap is not intended for use with hot liquids and cleaning with very hot water is also not ideal for the plastic parts. Lukewarm water with detergent or the dishwasher will suffice.
  

• Can I open the YETI Straw Cap with one hand?

  Yes, that is one of its strong points. The cap opens with a flick of your thumb while you hold the bottle in your hand. Convenient when exercising, cycling, or driving.
  

• What is the difference between the YETI Straw Cap and the Commuter Cap?

  The Straw Cap is for cold drinks, has a straw, and is less suitable for carrying in a bag. The Commuter Cap is for hot and cold drinks, has an open drinking surface around the rim, has extra insulation in the cap, and is more resistant to movement in a bag. For coffee: Commuter Cap. For water and sports drinks on the go: Straw Cap.
  

• Can I use the YETI Straw Cap for thick drinks like smoothies?

  The straw is wider than a standard straw, which makes it more suitable for slightly thicker drinks. However, for smoothies with fruit pieces or fibers, the straw can clog. Thinly blended smoothies work great, thick fruit mixes less so.
  

• Does the YETI Straw Cap come with a warranty?

  Yes, five-year warranty. That applies to all YETI stainless steel drinkware and accessories.
