• What is the YETI Commuter Cap?

  The YETI Commuter Cap is a separate cap that can be placed on any YETI Rambler bottle. It is 100% leakproof when closed, drinkable from all sides, and has an insulated interior to retain heat or cold longer. It is purchased as a separate accessory, independent of a bottle.
  

• Which YETI bottles fit the Commuter Cap?

  The Commuter Cap fits all YETI Rambler bottles, from the smallest to the largest size. It does not fit the YETI Mug, Tumblers, or other drinkware, only the bottle line.

• How does the YETI Commuter Cap work?

  The cap has two parts: an outer ring that screws onto the bottle and an inner plug. Twist the inner plug half a turn to loosen it, and you will feel it click. After that, you can drink from all sides without rotating the bottle. Twist the plug completely closed for a 100% leak-proof seal.

• Is the YETI Commuter Cap truly leakproof?

  Yes, if it's completely closed. You can put the bottle with the cap in a bag without anything leaking out. That's the big advantage compared to the YETI Thermomug with StrongHold lid, which is leak-resistant but not completely leak-proof.

• Can I use the YETI Commuter Cap for both hot and cold drinks?

  Yes. The Commuter Cap is suitable for both hot and cold drinks. The cap has built-in insulation, which slows down heat loss compared to a regular cap. Unlike the Straw Lid, which is only suitable for cold drinks, the Commuter Cap can be used for coffee or tea.

• What is the difference between the Commuter Cap and the Straw Lid?

  The Straw Lid is designed for cold drinks and works with a straw. The Commuter Cap is designed for both hot and cold beverages and has an open drinking surface around the rim. The Commuter Cap is also more resistant to movement in a bag; the Straw Lid can open when shaken.

• What is the difference between the Commuter Cap and the Chug Cap?

  The Twist Cap gives you a larger clear spout for bigger sips and is convenient for water and sports drinks. The Commuter Cap has a narrower opening around the rim, which works better for hot drinks. Additionally, the Commuter Cap has more insulation in the cap itself.

• Can I use sparkling water or soda with the YETI Commuter Cap?

  No. The Commuter Cap is not suitable for carbonated drinks. Pressure build-up can make the cap difficult to open or cause it to release with force. Also, do not use it for storing food or perishables.

• Is the YETI Commuter Cap dishwasher safe?

  Yes. Put the lid on the top rack and the rubber gasket in the cutlery basket. Always remove the gasket for a thorough cleaning, as odors can otherwise linger in it.

• How do I prevent odors in the gasket?

  Remove the gasket from the cap after every use or wash and let it air dry. A wet gasket that is trapped will quickly attract odors. YETI Cleaning Tablets also work well to remove odors once they are present.

• Does the YETI Commuter Cap also fit older YETI bottles?

  Yes, the thread size of all Rambler bottles is the same, including older models. So you can simply put the Commuter Cap on an existing bottle.

• Is the YETI Commuter Cup easy to open with one hand?

  It takes a bit of practice. You have to turn the inner stopper half a turn, which is more difficult than pressing a button. It's easy with two hands, but with one hand while driving it takes a bit more maneuvering. If you only loosen the stopper a quarter turn instead of fully closing it, it will be easier afterwards.
