  How many cups of coffee can I make with the YETI French Press?

• How long should I let the coffee steep?

  Expect about 4 minutes for a standard French Press brew. YETI recommends a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:16, meaning 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water. Use coarsely ground coffee for the best results and adjust the amount to your own taste.
  

• What is the GroundsControl Filter and why is it different from a regular French Press?

  The GroundsControl Filter is at the core of what sets the YETI French Press apart from ordinary ones. After pressing the plunger, the filter stops the brewing process. The coffee then stays warm in the carafe without over-extracting and becoming bitter. In a glass French Press, the coffee continues to over-extract if you leave it, quickly making it too strong and bitter.

• How do I properly set up the YETI French Press?

  Rinse the jug with hot water first for the best thermal performance. Then add coarse ground coffee, pour in hot water, stir briefly, and place the lid with the filter on top. Wait 4 minutes and press the plunger down slowly and evenly. If it's difficult: remove the plunger, stir the coffee loose, and start again. Never use excessive force; hot liquid could spray up.

• How does the lid of the YETI French Press close?

  Always twist the clear plastic part of the lid, not the metal knob of the plunger. The inside of the jug has small protrusions onto which the lid's hooks snap into place. Make sure it's securely fastened before you start pouring.

• Does coffee stay warm for a long time in the YETI French Press?

  Double-wall vacuum insulation keeps coffee significantly hotter for longer than a glass French Press. For best heat retention: pre-warm the carafe with hot water, pour as soon as possible after brewing, and keep the lid closed. Some users note that heat retention is shorter than with other YETI products, which is due to the lid's larger surface area compared to a mug or bottle.

• Can I also use the YETI French Press for tea?

  Yes. The GroundsControl Filter also works great for loose-leaf tea. It filters out the leaves after brewing and also prevents the tea from steeping further and becoming bitter.

• Can I use the YETI French Press as a carafe?

  Yes. By removing the French Press lid, you can use the pitcher as a carafe or pitcher. YETI also sells a separate Twist-to-Lock MagSlider™ Pitcher Lid, which allows you to easily cover and pour from the pitcher.

• Is the YETI French Press dishwasher safe?

  Yes, both the pitcher and all individual parts are dishwasher-safe. Make sure to separate the parts before putting them in the dishwasher so everything gets thoroughly cleaned.

• Can the YETI French Press go in the fridge?

  Yes, it can be put in the refrigerator. Do not put it in the freezer, as this can damage the vacuum insulation. When you take it out of the refrigerator, some condensation may appear on the outside as it warms up in the air. This is normal.

• How much does the YETI French Press weigh?

  Empty, it weighs approximately 1.2 kilos. Filled with a liter of coffee, it weighs over 2 kilos. It has an extended handle for a good grip, but this is not a product to carry around in a backpack. It's more for on the table, on a boat, or at a camping table.

• Is there ceramic in the YETI French Press?

  Yes. The inside of the jug has a DuraSip™ Ceramic coating. This provides a neutral taste profile, no metallic taste in your coffee, and makes the inside easier to clean. Coffee residues rinse off more easily than with pure stainless steel.

• Are there any loose parts I can lose?

  The plunger and the GroundsControl Filter are the most important components. The filter is also available separately through YETI in case it gets lost or worn out. Technically, you can use the French Press without the filter, but then the brewing process will not stop, and the coffee will continue to steep.

• Will the YETI French Press fit into my home coffee setup?

  It is best suited for people who already work with a French Press and know what they are doing. It is not an entry-level product: you need coarsely ground coffee, preferably a scale for the correct ratio, and the patience to wait 4 minutes. In return, you get a pot that keeps your coffee warm without it continuing to brew.

• Is there a warranty on the YETI French Press?
