Addison Ross Pepper or Salt Mill 'Bobbin' Watermelon Pink 24cm

The Addison Ross Bobbin is the grinder that made the brand famous: a spool-shaped design in high-gloss watermelon pink. It grinds pepper or salt with a ceramic grinding mechanism and stands on the table as a real design piece. At 24 cm, it is the versatile medium size of the Bobbin family.

The iconic Bobbin shape

The Bobbin is an exclusive Addison Ross design, inspired by an old-fashioned spool of thread. The grinder has both an S and a P button made of stainless steel, so you can indicate what is inside and no one gets confused. The grinder is 24 cm high including the adjustment knob and the base has a diameter of 7 cm.

Rubberwood with eight layers of high-gloss lacquer

Addison Ross makes the grinder from sustainably sourced rubberwood. Then it receives eight layers of high-gloss lacquer, and between each layer it is polished by hand. This gives you a deep, even shine in watermelon pink that you would expect more from a design object than a kitchen aid. The lacquer also makes the surface smooth and dense, so that grease and crumbs come off easily.

Ceramic grinding mechanism, clockwise

Inside is a ceramic grinding mechanism that you activate by turning the head clockwise. Ceramic is hard and does not rust, so it can handle both salt and pepper. With the adjustment knob you determine the coarseness: the tighter you tighten it, the finer the grind. Do not turn it too far, because then the grinding mechanism can be damaged.

Pepper or salt: you choose

You fill this grinder with black peppercorns or with dry rock salt up to 4 mm. Moist sea salt, wet salt, dried wet salt and pink pepper are not suitable: they will stick or clog the grinding mechanism. If you want both on the table, take two grinders and choose a fixed filling per grinder. The grinder is independently tested and complies with the European rules for materials that come into contact with food (Directive 84/500/EEC and 2005/31/EC).

Maintenance

Wiping with a soft, damp cloth is enough. Do not immerse the grinder in water and do not put it in the dishwasher, because wood and lacquer do not like that. Also do not leave it for a long time in direct sunlight, so that the color stays beautiful. It is delivered in a gift box, so you can give it away as is.
