Saucepan
Saucepans are essential in a kitchen. You use them for cooking vegetables, potatoes, rice, and pasta. Additionally, you can prepare larger portions of sauces or blanch vegetables. Almost all saucepans are made of stainless steel, so you have little choice there.
Do pay attention to the size of the pan (step 3 of Buying Pans - lesson 1). On the one hand, a pan that is too large is clumsy and takes up a lot of space. On the other hand, a smaller pan boils over faster.
You almost always use a lid on a saucepan. This keeps the moisture in the pan and your dish cooks faster. It doesn't matter whether it's made of stainless steel or glass. With a glass lid, you can peek – but if your broccoli is more concerned with its privacy, you'd better not. View all Saucepans at Braadbaas

Frying Pan
One of the most popular and frequently used pans is the frying pan. The frying pan often has an elongated handle and a large surface area where you can properly prepare your food. The rim of the pan also often flares outwards. This allows steam to escape easily and helps your meat brown faster.
The size of the pan is very important. You don't want too much piled on top of each other, but you also want to make sure there isn't too much empty space. We recommend having two sizes of frying pans in your home; 24 and 28cm are the most common. This way, you can make a nice egg for yourself in the small pan, and for your friends, you can fit more steaks in the 28cm pan.
Frying pans sometimes differ in the surface area of the pan in relation to the diameter. Do you have less space on your stove? Then make sure the surface area is as large as possible in relation to the diameter. Do you have more space? Then you can opt for a pan that slopes a bit more, so you have the advantage of steam escaping more easily.
Do you want to cook your dishes longer or prepare larger quantities? Then a sauté pan, with its higher rim, is a good alternative. View all Frying Pans at Braadbaas

Wok Pan
Wokking and stir-frying are becoming increasingly popular. The wok pan makes this easy and fun. You use a wok pan to stir-fry ingredients at high temperatures. Thanks to its high, bowl-shaped rim, you can easily toss ingredients. The Wadjan pan, with its two handles, can be easily lifted even when completely full. In contrast, a wok pan with a handle allows for easier one-handed stir-frying and is more comfortable to hold thanks to its cool-grip handles. View all Wok Pans at Braadbaas
Sauté Pan
The sauté pan is essentially a frying pan with a higher, upright rim. It's an all-rounder. Prepare stews, dishes with sauce, or a thicker piece of meat. You'll spill much less because the upright rim reduces splashes. Super practical! Also, the cooking liquid stays in the pan better. Compared to a frying pan, the sauté pan often has a lid, which keeps your pan warmer and prevents your dish from drying out. View all Sauté Pans at Braadbaas
Saucepan
Saucepans are ideal for preparing sauces and other liquids. It's not for nothing that they are called 'Saucepans' in English. Don't let that distract you, because you can only truly make good sauces in a Saucepan. The difference is often in a slightly more sloped rim and a pouring spout. Do you want to melt chocolate? Then a Bain-marie pan is also a nice addition to your collection. Thanks to its two layers, you can put boiling water in the pan, super easy! View all Saucepans at Braadbaas

Grill Pan
Are you going to bake and grill? Coat your ingredients with oil and place them on your Grill Pan. The ridges and high temperature sear your food, preserving flavors and juices. Additionally, it's also very healthy, as the fats from your ingredients are collected between the ridges and are therefore not absorbed. Because these pans are often made from materials like Cast Iron and cast aluminum, they are suitable for high temperatures. View all Grill Pans at Braadbaas
Roasting Pan
Do you often prepare game, poultry or meat? With a roasting pan, you can sear these dishes and then let them simmer at a low temperature for a longer period. This prevents moisture from escaping your ingredients, making them very dry and losing their flavor. Soups, vegetables, and stews are also perfect to prepare in a roasting pan. Other Pans
You also have pans that you only really need if you want to take your dishes to a higher level. With the pans mentioned above, you will always get by. But a Braadbaas wouldn't be a Braadbaas if they didn't want to go up a level. The pans below will help you with that.
Fish Pans
The name says it all. The oval shape and low rim make it perfect for preparing fish. View all Fish Pans at Braadbaas

Paella Pan
Rice is the most important ingredient in Paella. Due to the large surface area of the pan, the rice comes into a lot of contact with the bottom, which gives the rice a delicious crispy crust. Paella is best served by scooping, so you don't need a high rim. The low rim also makes it perfect for serving with the pan so everyone can serve their own portion. View all Paella Pans at Braadbaas
