Seasoning service at Braadbaas

Do you have a cast iron or carbon steel pan that could use a new seasoned layer? We offer a seasoning service for our customers! Bring your pan to our store and pick it up nicely seasoned a few days later. In this article, you'll find more information about our seasoning service.

Why do you need to season pans?

Cast iron and carbon steel pans can rust. These pans do not have a non-stick coating by themselves, but by regularly seasoning them, you create a seasoned layer that protects against rust and functions as a natural non-stick coating.

When can you have your pan seasoned?

Our store is open from Wednesday to Saturday. You can drop off your pan on these days. Usually, you can pick up the pan within three business days.

Which pans do we season for you?

We season cast iron and carbon steel pans for you. We do not season cast iron pans with an enamel coating, as these do not need to be seasoned.

What does it cost to season your pan?

When you drop off your pan, we assess its condition. If the pan has rust, we will first need to remove the rust. We charge €5.95 for rust removal and cleaning the pan.

If the pan is already rust-free, we will only clean it thoroughly with soapy water. You will not be charged for this.

You pay €14.50 per pan for our service + €9.99 for a bottle of seasoning oil. We season your pan with 3 layers of seasoning oil. When you pick up the pan, you will receive the used bottle of seasoning oil, so you can start seasoning yourself with the remaining oil.

How to season it yourself
