Fit or Fat... What are you doing this January?

How do we get back into a healthy rhythm in 2023? Structure and planning are key! With the right planning, the chances of making a mistake are smaller. Read how to start the year fit in our blog!

Secretly nice, those New Year's resolutions! ✌🏼

The Crazy (Fat) December Days are over again. The consumption has certainly taken its toll on us. We can safely say that we have gained a few pounds. Wine, bubbles, and craft beers flowed abundantly. Then there was also a well-stocked buffet seven times with stuffed turkey, cookies, desserts, and if you were really lucky, a fondue or gourmet meal once or twice. In short, December was once again a feast of eating and drinking.Β

Let's therefore go back to healthy eating and drinking!

We say this from experience, a healthy lifestyle comes with ups and downs. In the beginning, you have to get used to it and find your way. There is a chance that you can't resist and that stray piece of chocolate you still manage to eat. That can happen sometimes, it's sometimes difficult. But we're going for it! With some healthy and easy recipes, we're going to help you live healthier. In this blog, we'll give you some more useful tips!

Eating carrots all day? Certainly not.

Structure and planning is key! Make a strict schedule for yourself, then the chance of making a mistake is smaller. In the weekend, decide what you want to eat each day for the coming week. Write down what you're going to have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and do your shopping for the whole week at once. The less often you go to the supermarket, the better. The local supermarket causes a lot of temptation!

Don't forget to bring some healthy snacks too! If you forget the snack vegetables or fruit, you'll be more likely to reach for chocolate and cookies. When it comes to 'healthy eating', try not to think too much about carrots with vegetables. Healthy food means varied and moderate eating. You're allowed to eat something tasty, as long as you consciously think about your food and don't immediately call the pizza delivery service... πŸ•

Time for tap water!

Braadbaas has made a selection of healthy recipes, which you will find on our recipes page in the coming weeks. Now it's your task to also snack and drink healthily outside of these recipes. Drink at least 1.5 liters of tap water (water, therefore) per day. However difficult and hard it is… try to leave that beer alone this month. Although beer consists of about 93% water, it is unfortunately not as healthy as a glass of water from the tap. In addition to your healthy diet, you should exercise as much as possible. Try to reach 10,000 steps every day and especially go for a run or fitness session two or three times a week!

Tip: add some zest to your tap water by making fruit water! For example, use strawberry, lemon, and basil.

So, are you going for Fit or Fat in 2023?

We at Braadbaas are going for the small belly ourselves. Not quite fit, but not fat either. We like to combine the healthy with the pleasant and we're going for that again this new year. Good luck and, most importantly, have fun! πŸ˜‰
