A fresh start to your BBQ!

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, time to barbecue... soon! ☀️

After winter, it's lovely to make a fresh start. Time to clean your BBQ! This way, you'll be prepared for the outdoor season, and your dishes will taste perfect! 🔥

1. Start early

A successful barbecue evening requires good preparation. Therefore, start the big clean-up a few days before the barbecue. This way, you can be sure you won't encounter any surprises on the day itself.

2. Safety first

The first step to a sparkling clean barbecue is to check if your barbecue is stable, ensuring you work safely. For a gas barbecue, check the date on the gas hoses. These hoses have a limited lifespan. If you want to be sure the hose has no leaks, you can lather the hose with a sponge and some soapy water. Then, open the gas bottle. Do you see bubbles? Then your hose has a leak and needs to be replaced!
Once the gas hose is in order, you can check if the barbecue turns on. Check if the flames are constant, meaning the gas supply is flowing without problems.
For a charcoal barbecue, you can grab some new firelighters to check if the ignition system is still working properly.

3. Burn baby burn

Has your barbecue passed the inspection round? Then set the barbecue to its highest setting for about twenty minutes. All remaining grease residues, food residues, and any molds will be burned away this way.

4. Time to scrub

After the burning ritual, it's time to remove all the grates from the barbecue. Brush off all the coarse dirt and then clean the grates. Make a solution of hot water and cleaning soda. Let the grates soak overnight in a large tub or a garbage bag. The next day, you can easily remove the dirt. Don't forget to coat your grates with a neutral oil once they're clean; this prevents rust formation.

5. From the inside out

Now it's time to thoroughly clean the inside of your barbecue. Remove as much dirt as possible and then clean the barbecue with a mild soap and a cloth. Don't forget the grease tray! As a finishing touch, wipe down the outside of your barbecue; now it's sparkling clean.

6. Airing out

Don't immediately put the protective cover back on after cleaning; let your barbecue air out first. This allows all residual moisture to evaporate and prevents mold and condensation.

7. Accessories make everything better

Your barbecue is ready now, but are you? Make sure you have the right accessories to prepare the most delicious dishes.
