Roast Boss Burger Bonanza

After weeks of preparation, the time had finally come: Braadbaas’ Burger Bonanza. Our first real event at our cooking store in Maassluis. Knives sharpened, groceries bought, and recipes printed. We were ready!

The Burger Bonanza sold out within four days, and expectations were high. While chef Kosta dove into our kitchen in the afternoon to prepare things, we transformed the shop into a burger palace. 🍔

Kosta has over 25 years of experience as a foodie and loves nothing more than connecting people through cooking together. His career began in the kitchen of his father's Greek snack bar. Eventually, he ended up at Jamie Oliver in London, where he worked with great chefs such as the Italian celebrity Gennardo Contaldo. Together with his team, he then set up Jamie's kitchens in Rotterdam, The Hague, Reykjavik, and Arnhem.

From about 6:00 PM, our hungry guests slowly trickled in. It soon became clear that the drinking pace was higher than calculated. Fortunately, this could be quickly remedied. Because a burger night without beer is like an egg without salt, of course.

After the opening speech, it was time to test our guests' taste buds. We kicked off with the Braadbaas Cheeseburger. A true classic among burgers that everyone enjoyed. This was followed by the Black Bean Burger, for most, a step out of their comfort zone. A real burger should have meat, right? In the end, everyone came to the shared conclusion: veggie is mega! (Which we already knew, of course.) The Jamaican Jerk burger made it three in a row. This tropical surprise was a delicious dessert to conclude a successful evening.

 

And so everyone went home with a full stomach, the cookbook by Jord Althuizen and the burger recipes. Ready to get started at home like a true barbecue master! 👨‍🍳
